The Dordogne
region named after the river with this same name is also called Perigord.
"Le Petit Paradis"is situated in the heart of this region. In
the immediate surroundings of "Le Petit Paradis" you can hike
in one of the most beautiful regions of France , through. extensive woods,
along meandering rivulets and lakes, past and through fields of sunflowers
and all this time you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views on offer
all around.
There is also an opportunity to go cycling, to go riding on horseback (
at 500 metres from our farm), or to take to the water in a kayak. All these
activities are within easy reach. Karin will gladly help you to acquire
maps of the region to assist you on your walks or give you information about
renting bikes. Near our "little Paradise" there is also that beforementioned
lake where you may enjoy the clear and clean water. |

| Our
region is especially favoured by English tourists who are in pursuit
of a combination of nature and culture. It is rich in historical sites
and places of interest. Many castles, such as Beynac, and many monasteries
can be visited. The gates of fantastic gardens welcome you to enter.
And do not forget the impressing prehistoric caves with cave paintings
such as in Lascaux and Les Eyzies,in the beautiful Vezere valley.
Mediaeval towns such as Monpazier, Domme and Brantome are certainly
worth visiting. In larger towns such as Perigueux, Bergerac and Sarlat
you will find Norman streets and monuments, and of course pleasant
pavement cafes. You are not far from that famous St. Emilion wine
region where you may sample some of their best products at the vineyards. |
